About Me

Hello, I’m Julie Chavanu

With Secondary Research, I don’t create the research sources I use. Instead, I review a range of (credible) sources to get a better understanding of what experts and competitors in the industry – and sometimes tangent industries – are saying. It’s helpful to get the 10,000-foot view and then drill down to the 10-foot view to address your specific research questions.

Over the years, I’ve worked on a wide variety of projects from consumer goods to business and education services. Each client has different end requirements, from the format and tone of the final work product, to the questions they need to answer, to the audience who will use the information. However, a few things are always the same: resources need to be reliable and communication needs to be clear and easy.

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

Other Interests

These are topics that I haven’t done any professional research on, they just interest me.

Travel

Bucket List: Visit all 7 continents.

Progress on the Bucket List: 3 continents. If we call it EuroAsia, then I’ve been to 3 of 6. Half way there!

Travel Tip: Carry on luggage is the way to go.

Fun Facts

Learner is my top ranked strength on the Gallup Strengths Assessment. I love learning about things and so project work is a great fit. My next two strengths are Maximizer (someone who likes to find and maximize natural strengths) and Arranger (someone who likes to find the best way to get things done).

Books

I love classic murder mysteries from authors like Christie and Doyle, but I read business books, too. I prefer good, informative, even entertaining ones to dry, boring ones. That’s just me. A recent favorite is Alchemy: The Dark Art and Curious Science of Creating Magic in Brands, Business, and Life by Rory Sutherland.
